James Darrel Hansen was born on October 20, 1957 in Lovelock, Nevada to Alfred and Dorsmae Hansen. When he was young his family moved to Chowchilla, CA. Jamie grew up there, and loved it.
When Jamie was 19 years old, he left on a mission for the LDS church to Australia, where he had numerous experiences that helped him grow. When he returned home two years later, Jamie attended Reedley College, and later California Polytechnic University where he met and dated Susan Wallwork.
The two were married on July 8, 1981 and have had a happy marriage, the pride and joy of which are 8 children and 13 grandchildren.
For more than 20 years, Jamie has been the manager of a humanitarian raisin vineyard owned by the LDS church.
He has led an eventful life and been through many stages. Throughout it all, He saw God at work. Bit by bit, this is the story of Jamie Hansen: one good man in God's hands
